"A frustrating afternoon" - Pearce

"A frustrating afternoon" - Pearce

Men's manager Daren Pearce gives his thoughts following Saturday's loss to Godalming

On Saturday afternoon, we entertained Godalming Town FC, who were looking to keep their playoff hopes on track, while we were trying to continue our recent run of form. Unfortunately, we had a frustrating afternoon. We executed our game plan in the first half and led 1–0 at half-time after a Joe Boschi strike; however, after conceding early in the second half, we failed to get back into the game, and our visitors scored three further goals to emerge as 4–1 winners. We are now focusing on next Saturday's game away at Montpellier Villa FC and getting back to winning ways. Godalming are looking good and in a strong position to gain a playoff spot, proving to be a very strong team this season.

Our lads have been performing well recently, with the last nine or ten games proving that we have been unbeaten. However, we now need to push on if we are to achieve our collective ambitions. We have developed as a group since the start of the season, and now we must continue that development, remain focused and not get ahead of ourselves.

Next Saturday, we are away to Montpellier Villa FC in the league, with the game being played at Lancing, kick-off at 3pm.
